National Media Drumbeat Goes On
As you know, LeadingAge is implementing a national media and communications strategy designed to disrupt the pervasive narrative of demonizing aging services providers. This week, our president and CEO Katie Smith Sloan released another in a series of statements demanding support and resources:

The sad truth is this: The country has little more than a patchwork plan for protecting older lives. Our leaders in Washington, DC did not listen, did not plan, and did not prioritize the health and lives of older adults. Now our most vulnerable Americans are paying the price.

LeadingAge LTSS Center @UMass Boston experts authored an article in Health Affairs, outlining special challenges, government response and needed solutions: Under The Radar: Affordable Senior Housing Communities Need Support To Fight COVID-19. LeadingAge’s Policy team has long supported streamlining and electronic flexibilities to help housing providers better serve residents, which was granted with HUD guidance this week!
