The Role of Technology During the Coronavirus Pandemic
The role of technology in aging services is evolving in the face of the coronavirus pandemic. We are seeing an explosion of interest in how technology can help build connectedness—between older people and their families, friends, caregivers, and heath care providers. LeadingAge is offering ideas, expertise, advocacy, and tools to help you leverage technology during this crisis.

Supporting Social Connectedness through Technology
During this time of social distancing, technology can help older people feel less lonely and isolated. We’ve curated technology resources—some free—that can help you prevent loneliness and isolation among older adults during COVID-19 quarantines and isolation.

In addition, LeadingAge CAST has updated its Social Connectedness and Engagement Technology Tool. The tool features a Product Matrix and Online Selection Tool for 45 products, including three new products, as well as six new case studies. Get a snapshot of the new case studies and products and dive into one of the case studies from Connected Living.

Expansion of Telehealth
The LeadingAge Knowledge Center continues to add new content to help you navigate the COVID-19 crisis. Access these resources for free on the LearningHub Coronavirus page. A new QuickCast on Telehealth, Telemedicine, and Remote Patient Monitoring highlights ways to leverage your existing technology.

If you are considering a new telehealth solution, the LeadingAge CAST Telehealth and RPM Selection Tool will help you to choose the right technology for your organization’s needs.

As the COVID-19 pandemic evolves, we are seeing expanded coverage for Medicare beneficiaries and funding to help providers to purchase telecommunications services, information services, and devices necessary to provide connected care services.
