Think nothing's happening in Congress other than impeachment? Think again!

Join us this Thursday, Jan. 23 at 2 p.m. EST/11 a.m. PST for LeadingAge’s monthly Capitol Hill Insights call. Senators will be focused on the impeachment trial, congressional staff and members are still working on substantive health and housing legislation, including issues key to LeadingAge members.

We are very pleased to announce that our guest speaker is Conor Sheehey, chief health advisor to Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), a member of the Senate Finance Committee. Conor will share Sen. Scott’s perspective on long term care and critical efforts he is engaged in to improve long term care insurance. Sen. Scott is an important voice on our issues and we look forward to hearing his views.

What else? We have been working diligently to educate House and Senate members on the negative impact on CCRCs and their residents of the Medicaid Fiscal Accountability Regulation (MFAR) the Administration's proposed rule revising the Medicaid provide tax program. MFAR would effectively eliminate the ability of states to exempt CCRCs or provide discounts from provider taxes We need your assistance to encourage Congress to raise your concerns with the Administration, and this will be one of the critical issues we will be talking about.

We have updates on IMAGINE, our guest worker initiative, on the CNA bill, and on the upcoming appropriations season (yes, one ends and the next begins!). And more!

Finally, what makes May 22 a critical date? Join us and find out.
