LTPAC Health IT Summit Highlights

LeadingAge CAST is convening this year's long-term and post-acute (LTPAC) Health IT Summit for the first time. Themed Technology Connecting the Healthcare EcoSystem, it will bring LTPAC providers together with acute care providers, payers, health IT vendors, health information exchange intermediaries, consultants, system integrators, and solution providers with a shared goal. Together, they will discuss how technology is connecting the healthcare ecosystem in the era of health and payment reforms. The summit will take place June 24-26 at the Washington Hilton Hotel in Washington, DC. Learn more and register.
As McKnight's Long-Term Care News reported, CAST has broadened the focus of the nation's leading LTPAC healthcare IT summit beyond LTPAC providers. Other important stakeholders, such as acute-care providers, payers, and technology vendors serving older adults and individuals with chronic conditions, are also encouraged to attend.
“For years, acute-care providers, long-term and post-acute care providers, and payers have operated predominantly as silos,” CAST Executive Director Majd Alwan told McKnight's. “LeadingAge and CAST see a huge opportunity for collaboration and partnership between these siloed groups.”
The keynotes, panels, and breakouts will address the ways technology in general, and health IT particularly, enables innovative care delivery and payment models, supporting care management, coordination, interoperability, and health information exchange across providers.

Cross-Continuum Health IT Vendor Panel

The Summit opens on the afternoon of Sunday June 24, 3:00-4:30 p.m., with a one-of-a-kind engaging, moderated discussion. Health IT leaders from the acute and LTPAC vendor space will discuss their efforts, perspectives, strategies, and challenges in helping their customers address competitive, strategic, business, and cross-continuum interoperability opportunities in the rapidly changing provider landscape.
The roundtable features the following top-flight panelists:

  • Russ DePriest from LeadingAge Gold Partner with CAST Focus PointClickCare.
  • Larry Wolf from LeadingAge Gold Partner with CAST Focus MatrixCare.
  • Kevin Scalia from CAST Supporter Netsmart.
  • Rob Klootwyk from Epic.
