Upstairs Solutions and Care2Learn Announce Merger
| April 12, 2012
LeadingAge Premier Sponsor Upstairs Solutions and LeadingAge Business Member Care2Learn announced in April that they are merging and will form a new business entity under their parent company VectorLearning. Additional details about the merger will be announced in the coming year.
The merger will give long-term and post-acute care providers access to more than 500 accredited online course modules that can be used to train management, administrators, nurses and other staff, according to Long-Term Living magazine.
Additionally, clients will be supported by a record-keeping system called Learning Management System, which will manage and track training, licenses and competencies.
Founded nearly 10 years ago, Care2Learn provides online continuing education and corporate compliance training solutions for the post-acute health care market. Upstairs Solutions is a provider-owned company whose principals originally sought to improve training in their own facilities.
Tamar Abell, principal of Upstairs Solutions, will serve as president of the merged organization. Tom Wallace will serve as CEO of VectorLearning. The combined company currently has 126 employees that serve 600,000 users, according to Wallace.
