Niles Godes has more than 20 years of experience shaping and advancing public policy in Washington, DC. As senior vice president of housing and capital, Godes works with LeadingAge members to advance a public policy agenda that will help America’s seniors have quality, affordable places to call home.
Prior to joining LeadingAge, Godes was Democratic staff director of the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee. Under his guidance, the committee examined numerous issues important to seniors, including women’s retirement security, poverty and income inequality.
Godes previously served as chief of staff to Sen. Byron Dorgan, director of economic development for Sen. Kent Conrad, and managed statewide political campaigns in his home state of North Dakota.
He holds a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Georgetown University and is a member of the Maryland Bar. Godes serves as a “Political Insider” for National Journal’s weekly polls.
