New CAST Case Studies

CAST is pleased to release three new case studies that demonstrate the power of social connectedness and engagement technologies to reduce isolation and depression among older adults.

  • Nonprofit Care at Home New Jersey (CAHNJ) has achieved these goals among study participants who used a touchscreen Telikin computer to communicate with family, friends, and CAHNJ personnel.
  •  Inniswood Village, a senior living community of LeadingAge Provider Member National Church Residences, is leveraging an in-room portal solution to streamline communication and improve the day-to-day lives of residents and staff. CATIE is a solution from CAST Business Associate Status Solutions.
  •  Nonprofit life plan community Kendal at Longwood, part of LeadingAge Provider Member Kendal-Crosslands Communities, has decreased residents’ antipsychotic drug use and depressive symptoms through person-centered engagement strategies such as robotic pets.

CAST News

At CAST, we continue to promote the advancement of aging-field technologies through multiple news articles.

  • Using Tech to Thrive in Place: In a recent interview with Stria, I shared technology’s vast potential to enhance the experience of aging. Learn about attitudes toward technology and aging and future tech trends and why I prefer the term “thriving in place of choice.”
  • Strategic Data Analytics Now Essential: I also contributed to a recent article in McKnight’s Senior Living that says a strategic approach to harnessing and analyzing data is now essential for senior living operators who want their organizations to remain competitive. See why I say that data is currency now and what opportunities it affects—such as 5-Star ratings, reimbursement levels, payer contracts, referrals, and more.
  • IT Expands to Address Physical Needs of Long-Term Care Facilities: I also shared thoughts on the explosion of new technologies to assist senior living’s physical plants in a recent issue of McKnight’s Long-Term Care News, along with LeadingAge Gold Partner with CAST Focus MatrixCare.

McKnight’s Long-Term Care News also mentioned CAST’s updated Social Connectedness and Engagement Technology Online Tool.
