CCRCs: Report Documents Salary and Benefits for Employees

The Hospital and Healthcare Compensation Service published the in cooperation with LeadingAge.

Staff vacancy rates and the length of time it takes to fill a position declined in 2012 for almost all jobs at continuing care retirement communities (CCRC), according to the 2012-2013 Continuing Care Retirement Community Salary and Benefits Report. The Hospital & Healthcare Compensation Service (HCS) published the report in cooperation with LeadingAge.

Only therapy and environmental services positions did not enjoy lower vacancy rates and fill time, according to the report.

HCS also reports that: 


  • The national average salary of CCRC directors of human resources was $70,899 in 2012, a 2.7% increase over 2011. 
  • The national average bonus reported for directors of human resources in 2012 was $6,555, or 8.3% of salary. 


About the Salary and Benefits Report

HCS’s 15th annual study of CCRC salary and benefits includes compensation data on 87,300 employees working in 523 communities. Data in the report covers 42 management and 45 non-management positions. 

The report also includes information about 18 fringe benefits, turnover rates by department, and projected salary increases for 2012 to 2013.

How to Participate in 2 Additional Surveys 

HCS is currently seeking participants for 2 ongoing surveys about salary and benefits in homecare and hospice. Each survey will cover salary, hourly and per-visit data on 63 jobs, as well as information on fringe benefits, shift differentials and turnover rates.

Hospice and homecare agencies can participate in the studies by downloading the survey questionnaires. Study participants receive substantial discounts on purchases of the published reports.
