LeadingAge and the American Seniors Housing Association have released the 2011 edition of the Assisted Living and Continuing Care Retirement Community State Regulatory Handbook. The first version of the annual guidebook was published 15 years ago.
The 41-page document presents an easy-to-use summary of key state regulatory and licensure requirements for assisted living residences and continuing care retirement communities (CCRC) in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Using information submitted by state licensure professionals, the 2011 handbook incorporates updated assisted living information from 12 states and updated CCRC data from 7 states and Washington, DC. The publication also includes updated state agency contact information.
“This handbook will be useful to providers that are looking to expand into other states or are looking at how regulations vary across states because they may have an issue in their state,” says Steve Maag, director of residential communities at LeadingAge. “It provides a quick synopsis of state regulations and allows you to easily cross-reference your state’s provisions with provisions in other states.”
