Respectful communication is an essential part of building and maintaining good relationships with colleagues, residents, and their families. Studies show that the care provider’s ability to explain, listen and empathize can have a profound effect on outcomes for those who work and live in a healthcare setting.
This webinar will identify negative practices that contribute to failed communication as well as key elements of effective communication. If you are in need of a foundation on which to rebuild your organization’s communication process, this webinar is for you and your staff.
Participants will be able to:
- Recognize what it means to communicate effectively.
- Describe 5 obstacles to effective communication.
- Identify other’s preferred mode of communication recognizing how each best receives information.
- Discuss positive outcomes that result from enhanced communication skills
Licensed nurses, nursing home administrators, social service, activities, and direct caregivers.
1.0 for nurses for each session.
For PA-based skilled care facilities or COLLAGE members the cost is discounted to $110 per session or $450 for the series (5). For all others the cost is $135/session or $580/series.
This program will be "paperless." Handouts will be e-mailed to the facility contact person prior to the program. Please make sure you provide an e-mail address that will accept attachments when you register.
The registration fee is only valid for one computer at the location registered with Kendal Outreach, LLC. You must have one designated webinar contact person assigned to your facility. Multiple staff may sign in and watch the webinar, and you may use an LCD projector to make the program more visible to a larger number of staff. If you do not have computer access, you may use your telephone to access the program as a teleconference.
Contact hour certificates will be e-mailed to the facility contact person for all participants who sign in and return a completed evaluation form.
