MatrixCare Announces Revolutionary New Care Coordination Platform for LTPAC Providers

Long-term post-acute care (LTPAC) technology provider MatrixCare®, a LeadingAge Silver Partner with CAST Focus, has announced a new CareCommunity™ population care management platform. CareCommunity—built as the industry’s first truly integrated, spectrum-wide technology platform—is designed to revolutionize how LTPAC providers care for the U.S. senior population while also empowering them to successfully compete in an increasingly challenging health care environment.

“Just like the x-ray fundamentally changed how doctors diagnose medical conditions, we believe CareCommunity will revolutionize senior care,” said MatrixCare President & CEO John Damgaard. “Our platform eliminates the communications barriers between acute and various non-acute settings to provide a single, e-longitudinal health record that enables the entire care team…to connect, engage, interact and make informed, real-time care decisions,” he added. “The inevitable result is higher quality scores, increased family and patient satisfaction, lower readmission levels, and an enhanced ability to compete in the fee-for-value and alternative payments world.”

LTPAC facilities typically have only a fraction of a senior’s full medical record, which makes it difficult to provide quality care. CareCommunity aggregates all pertinent clinical data from multiple entities involved in the care process—as well as from more than 500 consumer and commercial-grade telehealth devices such as Fitbits, wireless scales, and glucometers. This solution makes CareCommunity equally suitable for home health agencies.

RCare Nurse Call Receives STEP Global NY Exports Grant, Expands into Africa

CAST Business Associate RCare, a global provider of UL-1069 listed wireless nurse call and personal emergency response systems, won a grant from the State Trade & Export Promotion (STEP) Global NY Exports Grant Program. This program was designed to increase the number of New York-based small businesses that export goods globally, and to increase the value of their exports.

The grant sent RCare to showcase their nurse call offerings at the Africa Health Exhibition in Johannesburg, South Africa, June 7-9, 2017. This healthcare exhibition is one of Africa’s largest, with over 9,000 healthcare professionals in attendance. RCare was the only nurse call technology selected for this exclusive opportunity.

Myron Kowal, CEO of RCare, says RCare’s BCube system could have a huge impact on the care of people in Africa. The BCube is a full-featured wireless nurse call system, but is designed and priced exclusively for small campuses, which is perfect for rural parts of the world with a limited budget and smaller facilities.

“Rural and remote areas need the rich features of an advanced nurse call and monitoring technology, but their facilities are often small and cannot afford the price tag,” said Katya Kowal, Director of International Sales at RCare. “We are humbled to have this opportunity to enter into the African healthcare market with our BCube, which was designed just for small communities.”
