The LeadingAge Center for Aging Services Technologies was selected to participate on a Telehealth Expo on in the United States Senate on Wednesday. CAST highlighted its work in telehealth and explained its vision to Senators, Congressional staff, and industry leaders. The event was sponsored by the US Senate Broadband Caucus.

LeadingAge Senior Vice President of Technology and CAST Executive Director Majd Alwan said, “I am pleased that CAST participated in this event because it gave us an opportunity to share LeadingAge’s vision for telehealth and related enabling technologies and technology-enabled aging services to health care, and our research, including the Aging Services Technologies Study-Report to Congress and Technology Planning and Selection Tools.” “It was a great opportunity to share with congressional leaders, staffers, and industry partners our technology policy priorities, which aim to remove barriers and broaden the access, use, and benefits to these technologies, including affordable broadband Internet access, especially to rural home health providers, and restrictions on telehealth and telemedicine reimbursements in urban and rural areas alike,” he added.

CAST is leading the charge to expedite the development, evaluation, and adoption of emerging technologies that can improve the aging experience.
