Oak Crest Residence Renewal Program Nears Completion

Oak Crest Residence, a LeadingAge member in Elgin, Illinois, has received a shot of adrenaline in the form of a new kitchen, a new theatre, a new assembly hall, new bathrooms, a new Spa, and the creation of the new “Campbell Center.”

Executive Director Susan Cincinelli says she has witnessed many changes in the program.  “We have been very fortunate to have good people stay with us for long tenures and that is the secret to our success.  Commitment to and knowledge of the mission and how to carry that mission’s goals out” explains Cincinelli.  

In addition to Cincinelli’s long-lasting service administrators Margaret Walter and Marlene Pokorny have each served over thirty years with the organization.  Cincinelli also cites the many others who work at Oak Crest who have achieved remarkable service records, noting “it is our caring staff that sets our organization apart from all others”.   

Festivities planned to commemorate the accomplishments of the organization:

  • Special Edition of the Oak Crest Monthly Community Dinner, Monday September 17 at 6 p.m. 
  • Annual Hot Dog Luncheon celebrating our 108th Anniversary, Wednesday, September 19. 
  • Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social Friday, September 21st at 2 p.m. 
  • Renewal Open House featuring “Rock Classique” and Oak Crest favorite food samplings in the courtyard Saturday, September 22 from 3 to 5 p.m. 
Oak Crest Residence is renewing its commitment to the community to meet needs of older adults. The community was originally built in 1904 as a retirement home, Oak Crest has maintained stature in the community for over 100 years.
