Our 2012 Annual Meeting and Expo has come to a close. We had a great time, and we are honored that so many members were able to join us in Denver. We know many of you couldn't take time away from your communities, so we thought we'd highlight some of our favorite moments.

Speakers
Fly Eagle Fly: Desmond Tutu's General Session Speech
Arch Bishop Desmond Tutu was the keynote of our Opening General Session, which was held on Oct. 21. Mr. Tutu praised the great work that LeadingAge members are doing and reminded us of our shared responsibility to heal and repair the world through the work LeadingAge members do. Check out the video clip on our YouTube.
Crossroads: Larry Minnix Addresses LeadingAge
On our YouTube channel, you'll find LeadingAge President and CEO Larry Minnix's annual address to the Annual Meeting attendees. In it, Larry explains that the field of aging services is closing in on a point at which a crucial decision will be made-one that will have far-reaching consequences.

Inspiration
Reverse It: A 2012 Annual Meeting Poem
One of the coolest things at the 2012 Annual Meeting was a poem that shown during a General Session. It has an interesting twist to it, so we won't say too much about it. You should head over to YouTube and check it out.
Award Winners
2012 Award of Honor
Steve McAlilly is the 2012 Award of Honor recipient. He serves as president and CEO of Methodist Senior Services, a position he has held since 1994. Prior to that, he practiced law in Meridian, MS, for 14 years.
Under his direction, the organization has added several new communities, including the rebuilding of one destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Steve was the first to take the promising but then-untested concept of the Green House nursing home model and turn it into reality, building the nation's first Green Houses. See what Steve's friends and colleagues had to say about him.
While we are very proud of Steve, he wasn't the only winner. Please be sure to check out all of this year's honorees.
Longest Tenured Employee Contest
We held a contest asking members to submit bios of employees who have worked at their organizations the longest. Our grand prize winner was Nora Morant, a linen aide at Charles Morris Nursing and

Rehabilitation Center in Pittsburgh, PA. She has served there for 63 years, starting at the age of 17 as a housekeeper. Check out this YouTube video detailing Nora's career.
Social Media
To Tweet or Not to Tweet
This year, it wasn't really even a question. We had so many comments, questions and conversations going on via Twitter that our social media maven, Melissa Radford, had a constant grin. Check out #LeadingAge12 on Twitter to see some of the interactions.
Ignite LeadingAge
Experts presented solutions to your organization’s most pressing issues at this fast-paced event during the Expo. Check out a variety of topics on our YouTube Channel.
