LeadingAge Quality First Covenant

Published On: Jun 23, 2011Updated On: Jul 15, 2011 LeadingAge Quality First is a philosophy of quality and a framework for earning public trust in aging services. It is our profession’s quality assurance plan.
LeadingAge Quality First reinforces the commitment that all types of not-for-profit aging services providers have to maximize quality of care and quality of life for older adults. LeadingAge Quality First allows consumers to have confidence that the aging services they choose for themselves and their loved ones will meet or exceed their needs and expectations.
Most aging services providers are quality organizations. However, we face a doubting public, a critical media and a skeptical Congress. We need to prove our value as a field and distinguish ourselves as not-for-profit aging services providers.
By signing the LeadingAge Quality First Covenant, LeadingAge members commit to create an environment that inspires consumer confidence in the quality of the care and services they receive. Quality First unites LeadingAge members into a strong and compassionate community, shaped by not-for-profit values, supported by shared experiences and expertise, and dedicated to expanding the world of possibilities for aging.
LeadingAge has a variety of resources for members focused on a self-guided Quality First journey. Here is how to get started:
- Sign the Quality First Covenant.
- Send a photocopy of the signed Covenant to:
LeadingAge Member Service, Attn: Quality First, 2519 Connecticut Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20008-1520 - Place the signed Covenant in a prominent place in your organization.
LeadingAge will notify your state association that you have signed the Covenant.
