Nurse Leadership Enrichment and Development Online Training Program

Nurse Leadership Enrichment and Development (NurseLEAD) is an online training program to help charge nurses and team leaders become more effective coaches, leaders and supervisors of frontline staff.

What you will learn with NurseLEAD

Through the NurseLEAD program, long-term care nurses can gain valuable skills through seven modules of online coursework designed to prepare them to become more effective leaders and mentors, including:

  • Introduction to Leadership.
  • Critical Thinking.
  • Coaching CNAs.
  • Conflict Resolution.
  • Communication.
  • Diversity Among Staff in the Workplace.
  • Working with Management.

How the NurseLEAD program works

NurseLEAD is not an audio conference, a webinar, or a time-constrained class. Participants can register at any time and complete the program at their own pace. Log in at work, at home on a Saturday afternoon, or while sitting in a coffee shop with a laptop; all that is needed is a computer and internet connection.

Participants will progress through a series of modules by reading the topic content and considering case studies. Homework assignments at the end of each module ask the participant to practice specific leadership skills in the workplace and reflect on what they’ve learned. There is also a short multiple choice test at the end of the program, which is a requirement to receive the continuing education credit.

NurseLEAD registration

Registration for NurseLEAD is an easy process.

Fees and payment for NurseLEAD

The program costs $80 per participant. Group discounts are available for registering 10 or more participants. You can also pay a discounted flat group rate that allows a certain number of nurses to enroll in the training anytime over a 1-year time-frame. The flat group rate option allows organizations to sign up newly hired nurses as they come on board at any time over the year.

Development of this program was sponsored by the California HealthCare Foundation and the National Institutes of Health
