by Published On: Jun 12, 2012

On March 11, 2012, the 3 Morrison Senior Living Masonicare affiliates in Connecticut conducted an Iron Chef competition between the chefs from each facility. The event was sponsored by Morrison. All proceeds went to The Masonic Charity Foundations’ Quality of Life Fund.

There were well over 100 attendees who spent $20 per ticket to observe and taste the fare created by each culinary team.

The teams were:

  • Masonicare at Ashlar Village – MSL Executive Chef Bryan Kirdzik
  • Masonicare at Newtown – MSL Executive Chef Jeremy Santana
  • Masonicare Health Center – MSL Sous Chef Mathew Mazzone

The winning team was Masonicare at Newtown. However, the big winner was Masonic Charity Foundation and the residents they help support through the Quality of Life Fund. More than $2,000 was raised and plans are in place to make this an annual event.
