According to the article, the 39 homes on the honor roll were "the only homes, out of more than 15,500 that U.S. News reviewed, to receive four straight quarters of perfect 5-star ratings from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in all 3 areas in which CMS evaluates these facilities:
- Health inspections.
- Nurse staffing.
