A new LeadingAge cabinet began working in April 2012 to develop and strengthen the aging services workforce across the full continuum of staff and settings.
The LeadingAge Workforce Cabinet includes representatives from LeadingAge provider members – including continuing care retirement communities, home health agencies and housing providers – as well state associations and educators.The Workforce Cabinet will continue the work of the AAHSA Talent Cabinet, which was established in 2007 to make recommendations for policy, practice and education changes that address current and projected long-term care workforce shortages.
The Talent Cabinet released its report, Defining Core Competencies for the Professional Long-Term Care Workforce: A Status Report and Next Steps in 2009.

During the next 2 years, the Workforce Cabinet will create 3 products:
