Heidi Wagner reception

LeadingAge's first-floor gallery is the proud new home of The Passion Project, the brainchild of photographer Heidi Wagner. LeadingAge staff members, including president and CEO Larry Minnix, welcomed Wagner with an opening reception.

During the reception, Wagner explained a little bit about her background and her artistic inspiration. “The Passions Project” evolved from Wagner's desire to incorporate her own passion for photography into her everyday life.

She decided to bring her camera to work and to begin capturing the joyful moments of Frasier Meadows Retirement Community residents sharing some of their own special talents and passions.

What began as a small personal project quickly grew into a series of powerful images that are sure to inspire the passion within all of us. Wagner shares some of her thoughts and experiences from the project in her artist statement:

"My photography project evolved from a good idea into an amazing journey. I knew I would enjoy taking pictures of the elder residents of Frasier Meadows, but I had no idea the special gifts this experience would give me. After every shoot I would be inspired by each resident and their willingness to share their talents with me as I shared my talent with them."
