Friendship Village of Bloomington Receives Prestigious Design Award

Friendship Village of Bloomington, MN, which is owned and managed by Lifespace Communities, Inc., received one of four national Citation of Merit award from Environments for Aging.

The award honored the community’s $7.5 million, 17,000-square-foot fitness center which features a salt water pool and spa, technology-equipped gym, snack bar, exercise studio, indoor gold simulator, outdoor putting green and patio, Residents can also take instructor-led classes, exercise with a personal trainer or relax with a massage.

“This project was truly a collaboration between our residents, staff and Tremain [Architects & Planners] design group,” said Rick Meyer, executive director of Friendship Village of Bloomington, of the $2.5 million of funds raised by residents of the community. “Everyone in our community has a stake in the fitness center, and we’re honored to have been bestowed with such a prestigious national award.”

Winners of the award were determined by a panel of nineteen judges, including architects, interior designers, and educators.
