What Matters Most to LTPAC?
The CAST Commission spent its March 17 meeting reflecting on dramatic changes that are currently affecting the health care system. Commissioners also discussed ways in which CAST could help providers of long-term services and supports prepare for and thrive in the changing health care landscape. A new report summarizes the deliberations.

Aging Services Technology Study
This report to Congress provides a systematic framework for considering the existing evidence supporting the effectiveness of a diverse array of Aging Services Technologies (AST), information pertaining to ASTs that are under development, and those that are available outside of the U.S., thereby fulfilling the legislative mandates stipulated in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
Ziegler CFO Technology Survey Report - September 2012
In light of the new technology necessary for trends in patient care and coordination, Ziegler in conjunction with LeadingAge CAST sent a survey to our CFO HotlineSM participants to poll what areas of technology organizations are investing in and budgeting for in anticipation of future investment. The questions and related results are summarized below. There were 81 organizations that responded to the survey.
Long-Term and Post-Acute Care (LTPAC) Roundtable Summary Report of Findings
This report is summarizing the roundtable's recommendations that was released in a May 3 roundtable between long-term and post-acute care providers and officials from the federal Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology, roundtable participants said EHR design requirements need to focus on longitudinal care plans, transitions of care and patient assessments.
EHR for LTPAC: A Primer on Planning and Vendor Selection
The EHR whitepaper summarizes the most important steps in planning and implementation for EHRs, provides a matrix that shows existing LTPAC EHR products, and helps guide members into selecting the most appropriate product for their setting and requirements. There is also online EHR Selection Tool that allows providers to answer questions that lead them to a short list of the products that meet their needs.

This report identifies potential characteristics of the future operating environment for providers of long-term services and supports. It also delineates categories of potential business models, identifies enabling technologies for each model and evaluates how changes in the operating environment would affect these models.
CAST Analysis of State Payment for Aging Services Technologies (AST)
The analysis shows that 44 states reimburse for Personal Emergency Response Systems (PERS), 16 states reimburse for medication management and 7 states reimburse for home telehealth/telemonitoring.
