The mission of LeadingAge is to expand the world of possibilities for aging. Our membership includes 6,000 not-for-profit organizations representing the entire field of aging services, 39 state partners, and hundreds of businesses, consumer groups, foundations, and research partners. Together, our members touch 4 million lives every day. 

LeadingAge is also a part of the International Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (IAHSA), which spans 30 countries across the globe. 

LeadingAge is a 501c3 tax exempt charitable organization focused on education, advocacy, and applied research.

Government Shutdown and Debt Ceiling: Thank You for Your Advocacy

The impasse that shuttered most of the federal government and came close to officially reaching the limits on the authority of the government to borrow to pay for on-going debts came to an end on October 16, literally at the 11th hour.  Both houses of Congress passed, by comfortable bi-partisan margins, a deal negotiated by Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) and Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY).  The legislation was then signed by President Obama, and went into effect immediately. We greatly appreciate the hundreds of calls and messages LeadingAge members sent to their legislators urging an end to the shutdown.
